I drove twelve straight hours to reach my final destination.
To find that girl with the purple hair and the wild imagination.
I jumped down off the 405 and I finally stood beside her.
She said, "Take it easy boy. This is a whole different world."
I asked her if she knew where I could get a cool tattoo and dye my hair.
She just smiled and gave me that empty California stare.
"Never seen the stars at night except for pictures in magazines.
Don't pretend to feel so sad, that's what life out here means to me."
